THE LRT STAR

LRT STAR (Star Light Rail Transits)

LRT Star services has 2 main tracks namely Ampang Line and Sir Petaling Line. Ampang Line route covered  15km journey started from Stesen Sentul Timur northen and ended in Stesen Ampang at eastern side of the city. 


Sri Petaling Line route also originated from Sentul Timur station in northern and ended in Sir Petaling station in southern part of Kuala Lumpur city. Both of this route pulled up at 25 stations. Exchange between LRT Putra and STAR can be made at Masjid Jamek station.

Train started operating from 6.00 am to 11.45 pm.
The service frequency is 3-4 minutes during working time and 5- 8 minutes off that time

THE KTM KOMUTER NETWORK





KTM Komuter start it service as the first electric train in Malaysia in 14th August 1995 between Kuala Lumpur and Rawang.

Komuter's train service in one day's time has made 153 km round through two different electric train route in between Rawang – Seremban and Sentul – Port Klang. KTM Komuter connects 41 station including the newest, namely Serendah, Rasa and Kuala Kubu Bharu. Of new route namely Rawang to Kuala Kubu Bharu.

KTM Komuter's long term planning is to build twin electric train route between Rawang to Ipoh, Perak. Service distance is 55 km. From Rawang, further to Tanjung Malim with 5 supplementary stations before it reach Ipoh. Another  large project in planning namely twin route electric train from Sentul to Batu Caves station with 7.2 km extension,  through Batu Kentomen, Kampung Batu and Taman Wahyu stations.

Ticket types are;
Daily - is a one-way or return ticket
Weekly - is a weekly ticket. It can be used for 7 days with 20% discounts.
Monthly - is a monthly ticket. It can be used for a month with 33% discounts.

Frequency of KTM Komuter is 20 minutes during working days or holiday season.

KTM ANTARABANDAR

KTM Antarabandar is the earliest train in Malaysia. It exist due to the need of linking tin mining areas to the port. Kuala Lumpur railway station is the first station which connects Kuala Lumpur with other regions in Peninsular Malaysia is first constructed from Kuala Lumpur to Klang. It was launched in 22 Sep 1886. First train station site was located on high land behind the place which now known as Kelab Diraja Selangor.

When train service expanded northward, railway line has been built through town areas. This service has linked up Kuala Lumpur with tin mining areas. However train service which connects Penang, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore have been planned in year 1900 a new headquarters Malayan Railway were built above present location namely Kuala Lumpur station.

KTM Antarabandar connects 35 stations through states in peninsular Malaysia including Thailand and Singapore. KTM Antarabandar begins to be common focus during celebration seasons, school holidays and public holidays. Tickets can be booked or buy over the counter at level 2, KL Sentral.

KTM Antarabandar also provides tour package which includes train fare, accommodation and food. You can plan your journey to the desired destinations for your holiday.
