The majestic Putra Mosque or Masjid Putra is the district mosque of Putrajaya. Its design is based on Persian architecture. It is located by the Putrajaya Lake and is close by to Perdana Putra which houses the Malaysia Prime Minister's office. the mosque consists of a 116m tall minaret and can accommodate 15, 000 people. Friday sermons from this mosque are occasionally telecast nationwide live.
At the basement of the mosque is a "souk", which is a row of shops selling merchandise goods, souvenirs and handicrafts.
